The Iraq Policy Program seeks to bridge the gap between youth and the state by training youth on how to bring about positive change through policymaking. It empowers fellows to prepare policy papers and advocacy campaigns, which could enhance governance practices and consolidate rule of law
PUBLIC POLICY
Fellows will have the opportunity to learn and interact with experts who are specialized in the area of public policy and who have published widely in their area of specialization
COMMUNICATION
Fellows will communicate with decision-makers to identify the main difficulties and challenges of implementing, monitoring, and evaluating public policies. This program seeks to provide fellows with a realistic assessment of the decision-making environment in Iraq, and an understanding of the opportunities and challenges of change

Mentoring fellows to prepare policy briefs in their areas of interests to enrich dialogue and develop policy alternatives, which could help address current problems.Intensive Induction Week (40 hours)
Participants begin the program by participating in an intensive training week, covering topics of scientific research, data collection and analysis, and preparation and evaluation of policy advocacy campaigns
Seminars (30 hours)
Experts explain the different aspects of several important policies in Iraq, covering the institutional frameworks, actors, debates, and prospect of reform. Issues of budget and public sector reform, private sector reform, banking sector reform, energy reform, fighting corruption, electoral reform and political participation, Women’s rights, minorities, and international indicators will be discussed.
Meeting Elected Officials (20 hours)
Encouraging participants to follow state channels to deliver on their demands via holding meetings with elected officials representing different political blocs and parliamentary committees.
Capstone project (10 hours)
Mentoring participants to write policy briefs in their areas of interest, through individual one-on-one sessions. Policy briefs to be published in Arabic and English on social media platforms and the website.
