Regulating Subsidies of fuel to Rationalize Consumption

Despite Iraq’s significant role in the global oil industry as one of the major oil exporters, it faces significant problems in the     production, refining, and energy sectors. Daily consumption ranges from 27 to 31 million liters of gasoline and over
26 million liters of diesel, and this consumption is continuously increasing. These quantities represent a large proportion      compared to other countries, such as Turkey, where the daily gasoline consumption rate is around 11 million liters, despite Turkey having a larger population than Iraq. The main reason for this difference is the absence of support for public                transportation, along with low fuel prices that have led to increased use of cars, which now number over 7 million, increasing by 2% annually.
