Summary of the Roundtable Discussion

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Platform for Sustainable Development Center held a Roundtable Discussion titled “Iraq in the Conference of Parties – Achievements and Commitments.” The event was attended by several members of the Iraqi delegation to the Conference of Parties, along with experts, researchers, and active non – governmental organizations in climate action. The aim was to discuss the outcomes of the United Nations Climate Conference (COP28) held in the United Arab Emirates and the resulting resolutions and commitments. Two main topics were
discussed:
1.Iraq’s achievements from the Conference of Parties and mechanisms to enhance them.
2.Iraq’s commitments and the role of the international community in supporting them.
